Photographer Johnny Miller of MillePhoto has captured attention from around the world with his captivating aerial stills of the South African metropolitan landscape.
Shot using the DJI Inspire One, Miller’s images highlight the divide between informal shanty towns and communities of extreme wealth.
The Photographer, who was born in America and moved to Cape Town, South Africa 5 years ago studied anthropology and is fascinated in how South Africa’s city planning was very much involved the the apartheid regime which ended in 1994. “Roads, rivers, ‘buffer zones’ of empty land, and other barriers were constructed and modified to keep people separate,” he says.
Discrepancies in how people live are sometimes hard to see from the ground. The beauty of being able to fly is to see things from a new perspective – to see things as they really are
