Now GoPro have stopped selling the Hero 5 sessions. RunCam have released a new HD camera.
How will it hold up against the other cameras out there as more and more start to appear on the markets.
I’m a fan of the smaller box style cameras over the bigger wider camera’s like the hero 7. I think they are just a better fit for what we need, lighter and smaller.

The Good
The RC5 with its new image sensor is capable of higher resolutions and higher data rates, the higher date rates allow the camera to capture more detail. The RC5 also has is own version of SuperView were it stretches a 4:3 horizontally into 16:9 ratio.
The dimensions of the RC5 is the exactly the same size as a GoPro Session 5 good news for people already with those mounts. The new camera is made from hight intensity hardened PC and it has corning Gorilla Glass 3 lens protection.
The RC5 only weights in at 56g were the Hero 5 was 73g

The not so Good
No wifi configuration, But with the QR codes and direct laptop connection. Will it be missed?
Not water proof, but neither are our quads.
No recording display. But you do get a recording LED. Plus its one less screen to break.
The Summary
On paper the RC5 looks to be a good contender for a good HD camera but only time will tell if it fits the wants of the FPV hobby.
But for now its good image quality, higher data rate, light weight and price works for me.
